Release date
CBS confirmed in July 2024 that the reboot would be part of the fall release schedule, with the first episode airing on Sunday, September 22, 2024 at 8 p.m. ET. However, the second episode will not air immediately, but will premiere weeks later on Thursday, October 17, 2024. Subsequent episodes will air weekly every Thursday.

Where can you watch?
Matlock will air on CBS, which is available on traditional cable in the U.S. Viewers without cable can still watch CBS on live TV streaming services, including YouTube TV, Fubo, Hulu with Live TV and Paramount+ with Showtime. Canadian viewers can watch the show on Global TV, while in the U.K. it will air on Sky Witness. Episodes will also be available on Paramount+ the day after they air.
Plot
The reboot centers on Madeline Matlock, played by Emmy and Oscar winner Kathy Bates. Matlock is a seasoned attorney who returns to a prestigious law firm. Her expertise helps her handle complex legal cases with clever tactics. She works alongside younger colleagues, including Olympia, a lawyer with a passion for justice, and Julian, the son of the firm’s head, who is fascinated by her skills.
