Who owns Matty’s Gelato Factory?
Matthew Cairo, 30, opened his second location in Stuart, more than seven years after opening his first location in Juno Beach in 2017 at age 23. Since then, the eatery has won awards and recognition, including in 2019 when Yelp named it the best dessert in Florida.
Cairo was born and raised in South Florida. He moved to New Haven, Connecticut to learn how to make gelato and apprenticed under a master gelato maker from Italy. He decided to open a gelateria, which he runs with his wife Heather, to serve freshly made Italian gelato daily.
What kind of food does Matty’s Gelato Factory serve?
Matty’s Gelato offers Italian flavors like tiramisu and stracciatella, as well as American flavors like butterfinger, cake batter, and rum raisin. Seasonal flavors include eggnog, candy cane, pumpkin spice, and apple pie.
What’s on the menu at Matty’s Gelato Factory?
The Stuart restaurant’s menu is a little different than the Juno Beach restaurant. There are no gelato tacos and they are working on adding vegan, dairy-free and sugar-free options.

- Cone: $4.50 for sugar/cake, $6 for waffles, $6.75 for specialties, $4.75 for colored
- Take away: $10 for a pint, $18.50 for a quart, $16.50 for a regular pie, $25.50 for a party pie, $4.50 for a single sandwich, $16.50 for 6-packs of sandwiches
