Mbappe: “It was a great evening”

Mbappe: “It was a great evening”

Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe made his Champions League debut as a Madridista last night and scored the first goal for his team. Mbappe spoke to the press after the game and assessed his performance.

“It was a great night. We wanted to start with a win. It was a tough game but the Champions League is always tough. The Champions League has changed and the most important thing is to win to see if we can qualify quickly. It was a good night. Now we return to the league and hopefully we win at home on Saturday,” he explained.

Stuttgart made it difficult for Real Madrid and controlled the game for a few moments. Mbappe praised them for that.

“The game was tough. They play well and we had problems getting the ball out from the back and forward. We had chances to score but we started the second half really well. We pressed, played our game and scored the first goal early. The game was penalty area by penalty area and they equalised. Then all the Madridistas worked hard and we scored the second goal. Later Endrick scored his goal and we won the game,” he added.

Mbappe explained how he feels about playing for Madrid in a Champions League match and also shared his thoughts on his current form.

“When you play for Real Madrid you have to win every trophy. We try to win every game and when you wear this badge you have to win. I can do more. I know I will do more. With every game I feel better and now I’m scoring goals. I’m happy here,” he said.

Finally, the French star answered a question about Endrick, who scored a fantastic goal towards the end of the game.

“The most important thing is to score a goal. He scored his goal and separated himself from the players. He is very young. He is 18. He gets his playing time and he scores his goals,” he said.
