McDermott secures EPCI contract for Manatee gas project offshore Trinidad and Tobago

McDermott has secured an EPCI (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation) contract for the Manatee gas field development project, located 100 km off the south-east coast of Trinidad and Tobago.

The contract awarded by Shell Trinidad and Tobago Ltd. follows the successful implementation of the long-term lead time front-end engineering design, detailed designs and procurement services contracts for the initial design and execution planning of the project.

The contract calls for McDermott to design, procure, manufacture, connect and commission a platform and jacket.

McDermott will also provide design, installation and commissioning services for a 32-inch gas pipeline that will connect the platform to a gas processing plant operated by Shell.

In addition, the company provides design, procurement, installation and testing services for a fiber optic cable.

“This contract underscores our unique, integrated EPCI capabilities and our long history of engineering excellence and innovation to successfully deliver large offshore platforms and complex subsea infrastructure around the world,” said Mahesh Swaminathan, senior vice president of subsea and floating assets at McDermott.

“The Manatee project builds on our track record of successful project delivery for Shell and is an example of our commitment to building the energy infrastructure needed to meet demand,” said Swaminathan.
