McDonald’s  deal, Starbucks CEO and the problems of dollar stores

McDonald’s MCD says it $5 Menu Offer is worth an extension, at least until December. The fast-food giant also has a number of other promotions in store. This is not to be confused with the introduction of its digital kioskswhich are part of the company’s efforts to speed up service, even if it might mean bypassing real-life employees.

You’re never too old for a makeover – just ask Campbell’s Soup. The 155-year-old company is hoping shareholders will give the green light to its pitch to Remove “Soup” from the namepartly because it wants to focus on other items, including Goldfish (CPB) Crackers and V8 drinks. Analysts say the renaming is “sticky”, but a smart one (just ask Starbucks and Dunkin’).

Speaking of conversion. Things are not so great at Dollar-General And Dollar TreeThe discounters are faced with the enormous task of reinventing themselves in order to regain their place in the hearts of buyers (and wallets). According to some experts, the cheap paradises need to offer more consumer goods such as eggs, bread and milk.

Starbucks also has big orders on the horizon. The coffee giant’s new CEO Brian Niccol has unveiled a new plan aimed at Save the coffee giantwhile returning to its roots. For the next 100 days, Niccol is traveling and plans to spend more time visiting stores and meeting with partners to implement these changes.
