My analysis
The Los Angeles Sparks have seen better days.
They have lost many to injuries, including No. 2 pick Cameron Brink, but there is one rookie the Phoenix Mercury want nothing to do with: Rickea Jackson.
Jackson has been a decent scorer for most of this season, averaging just under 18 points in her last 10 games on a shooting percentage of 47/46/85. RJ has improved offensively with each game and has become more fearless toward the end of the season.
Jackson is shooting the ball to the basket more often than before, and when there is no shooting lane, she is quite capable of hitting it from mid- to short-range.
The LA rookie has scored 17+ points in three of her last four games, and the Mercury’s mediocre stopping unit won’t stop a red-hot Jackson from scoring 17+.
