Metallica announces Syracuse stop on M72 World Tour

Metallica will make a stop in upstate New York next year as part of their M72 world tour.

The JMA Wireless Dome in Syracuse will host the rock band on April 19, 2025, with opening acts Pantera and Suicidal Tendencies. It will be the fifth time Metallica has visited the Salt City. The last time was in 1996 at Lollapalooza at the New York State Fairgrounds, according to the band’s website. Metallica’s last show outside of New York City will be at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park in 2022.

Now in its third year, the M72 tour features a wraparound format that allows a few lucky ticket holders to experience the show from the center of the circular “Snake Pit” stage. The band has added 21 North American shows starting in April and running through June 2025.

Here’s what you should know:

When can I buy tickets for the Metallica concert?

Tickets go on sale Friday, September 27th at metallica.com/tour. Fan club presales begin Monday, September 23rd, with additional presales taking place throughout the week.

A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will go to local charities through the band’s foundation, All Within My Hands. All Within My Hands was founded in 2017 to give back to the communities that have supported Metallica over the years. To date, more than $15 million has been raised, including $8.2 million in grants for career and technical education programs, including the groundbreaking Metallica Scholars Initiative, now in its sixth year. More than $3.6 million has been allocated to combat food insecurity and more than $3.5 million has been allocated to disaster relief efforts.
