Miami man allegedly filmed women in Goodwill store with phone

MIAMI – Miami-Dade police arrested a man Monday after a woman caught him filming her changing in a dressing room at a Goodwill store.

According to a police report, Goodwill is located at 9760 Southwest 8 Street, Miami.

Diego Jose Rosales Morillo, 25, allegedly went into the dressing area across from her and filmed her undressing with his phone.

The woman noticed Rosales Morillo when she looked in the mirror in her room. She then quickly got dressed and confronted him before he “apologized” and said he “deleted” the video.

On Tuesday, July 9, the store manager saw Rosales Morillo and recognized him. The store’s cameras captured Rosales Morillo entering the premises to film a woman changing clothes.

On Monday, August 12, a store video showed Rosales Morillo filming another woman.

Rosales Morillo, who was accused of voyeurism, was identified by the store manager during a lineup.

According to police, Rosales Morillo admitted to being in the store but denied filming anyone and instead said he was taking “selfies.”

Goodwill store customers told CBS News Miami the allegations had disturbed them.

“I’m very concerned that you have to worry about this while you’re changing in the privacy of a dressing room, and it’s just disappointing. You would think you’re in the privacy of a dressing room, and you wouldn’t think someone would do something so perverse,” said Leslie Fonseca.

“This is very scary and unfortunate. I think this happens a lot to women in public, where there are a lot of men who can’t control themselves and think it’s a good idea to harass other women in public,” said Mia Ramirez.

“I think the fact that it even happened once is what concerns me at least. I love going to Goodwill and I love going to different places and trying on different clothes, and the fact that something like this can happen here is scary,” Ram Aires said.

CBS News Miami stopped by Morillo’s house, but when we knocked, no one answered the door.

A manager at the Goodwill superstore on SW 8th St. and 97th Ave. told CBS News Miami that he was not authorized to speak on camera or release surveillance video of the suspect in the case.

CBS News Miami reached out to Goodwill’s chief executive, who released the following statement:

“Goodwill Industries of South Florida does not tolerate outrageous and illegal behavior. The safety and well-being of our employees and customers is our top priority. The quick action of our store manager helped police identify this individual and led to an arrest. We remain committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment in our stores and will continue to cooperate with authorities.”
