Michigan State Spartans at Boston College Eagles

Michigan State Spartans at Boston College Eagles

Michigan State will take its undefeated record on the road and into ACC country to face Boston College under the lights. It will be Michigan State’s final nonconference game of the regular season.

Coming off a 40-0 win over Prairie View A&M, Michigan State looks to maintain the momentum it built in the early stages of coach Jonathan Smith’s first year in East Lansing. Quarterback Aidan Chiles has been brilliant and the defense looks much improved compared to last season.

Boston College will be a tough test. The Eagles have looked impressive so far this year, starting their season with a road win at then-No. 10 Florida State, followed that up with a clean sheet win over Duquesne and a top-25 win before losing 27-21 at No. 6 Missouri. Boston College is led by new coach Bill O’Brien, who was formerly the head coach at Penn State and the Houston Texans in the NFL.

Saturday’s prime-time showdown also marks Boston College’s annual Red Bandanna Game, which honors former Boston College lacrosse player Welles Crowther, who is credited with rescuing more than a dozen people from the South Tower of the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001.
