MORTON, Ill. (WMBD) – The Midwest Food Bank announced Monday afternoon that it is providing much-needed relief supplies to victims of Hurricane Debby in Georgia and Florida this week.

The bank said it has launched an initiative in partnership with the Salvation Army to support storm victims of Hurricane Debby, which caused extensive damage and destruction in parts of Georgia and Florida, according to a press release from CEO Lisa Martin.

Volunteers have loaded two semi-trailers with food packages that will be shipped from Morton to Savannah, Ga., on Monday. The packages are designed to feed a family for a week and provide them with additional supplies while they rebuild.
