Colorado Rockies vs. Arizona Diamondbacks – best bets

Antonio Senzatela will make his season debut for the Rockies. He is recovering from Tommy John surgery and has made just two starts since the start of the 2023 season. He has a 4.41 FIP and a 1.44 WHIP for his career. One of his main issues is that his career strikeout rate of 15.3 percent doesn’t give him much room for error. He is expected to be limited in pitches, so we could see extra innings from a Rockies bullpen that has the highest bullpen ERA and highest bullpen WHIP in baseball.

The Diamondbacks already have the most runs scored in baseball, so the combination of the favorable hitting environment at Coors Field and the disappointing Senzatela on the mound should give them a productive night. Our first goal for this game is for Eugenio Suarez to get an RBI. In his last 13 games, he’s hit 22-for-49 (.449) with seven home runs, three doubles and 12 RBIs. He’s hit 95 RBIs this season, putting him on pace to have at least 100 RBIs in a season for the third time in his career.

For the second attractive bet from this game, Joc Pederson is also in a favorable position to score at least one run. With the right-handed pitcher on the mound, Pederson will likely bat third in the Diamondbacks’ lineup behind the dangerous Ketel Marte and Corbin Carroll. The reason he bats so high in the lineup is because he has a .401 wOBA and a .260 ISO against right-handers this season. At plus odds, this bet is worth the risk.

St. Louis Cardinals vs. Pittsburgh Pirates – the best bets

Paul Skenes will start this game for the Pirates. He is coming off a stellar performance against the Marlins, allowing one run in six innings. He recorded nine strikeouts and allowed six hits and one walk. This was the fourth time in his last six starts that Skenes allowed just one batter to walk.

Skenes has dominated the Cardinals this season, allowing just two runs in 14.2 innings. He also hasn’t allowed a single walk in either of those two starts. The Cardinals have drawn the 10th fewest walks in baseball, so there’s a good chance Skenes will allow fewer than two walks again.

MLB Tips for St. Louis Cardinals vs. Pittsburgh Pirates

  • Paul Skenes allowed less than 1.5 walks (-110 at DraftKings Sportsbook) for 1 unit
