The 2024 MTV Video Music Awards are just around the corner!

The annual ceremony, which honors the best music videos, artists and songs of the year, will take place on Wednesday, September 11, at the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York, with Megan Thee Stallion as host.

This year’s show promises to be a star-studded affair, with several A-list celebrities appearing and vying for the “Moon Man” award.

Who is nominated for the 2024 MTV VMAs?

Taylor Swift leads the pack this year with 10 nominations, including in the coveted Video of the Year category. Should she take home a Moon Person for Video of the Year, she would break her own record and become the only female artist to win the category three times in a row and five times.

Post Malone, Swift’s “Fortnight” collaborator, is nominated for nine awards himself, while Ariana Grande, Eminem and Sabrina Carpenter each received six nominations.

Presenter Megan Thee Stallion and SZA are each vying for five awards, while LISA, Olivia Rodrigo and Teddy Swims have four each.

Carpenter and Swims are among the 29 inaugural nominees, including Benson Boone, Tyla, Chappell Roan, Jelly Roll, Rauw Alejandro, Sexxy Red, Victoria Monét and others.

Who will perform at the 2024 VMAs?

This year’s show includes a number of top-class talents who will perform on stage, including Eminem, who will open the show with music from his latest album. The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grace).

The cast includes Sabrina Carpenter, Shawn Mendes, Chappell Roan, Camila Cabello, Megan Thee Stallion, Halsey, Anitta, Benson Boone, GloRilla, Karol G, Lenny Kravitz, LISA, LL Cool J and Rauw Alejandro.

Additionally, Teddy Swims and Jessie Murph will perform on the show’s Extended Play stage, while Le Sserafim will take the stage during the pre-show.

Katy Perry will also be back on stage at the VMAs for the first time in seven years and will accept the Video Vanguard Award, joining the ranks of icons such as Britney Spears, Rihanna and Michael Jackson.

Who will host the 2024 MTV VMAs?

This year, Meghan Thee Stallion will host the event, succeeding Nicki Minaj, who hosted last year.

The rapper is nominated for five awards this year, including best collaboration for “Wanna Be” with GloRilla, as well as best hip hop, best visual effects, best direction and best art direction for “Boa.”

Who will be honored at the 2024 MTV VMAs?

Katy Perry will receive this year’s Video Vanguard Award and will take the show’s stage for the first time in seven years to perform a medley of his greatest hits to celebrate.

“Katy is a musical powerhouse and a true pop culture icon,” said Bruce Gillmer, Paramount’s president of music, musical talent, programming and events and Paramount+’s chief content officer for music, in a statement.

The “Never Really Over” singer won her first VMAs in 2011, taking home three Moon People awards for Best Visual Effects and Best Collaboration (“ET” feat. Kanye West) as well as Video of the Year (“Firework”).

Celebrities performing at this year’s show include Big Sean, Busta Rhymes, Carson Daly, Cyndi Lauper, Addison Rae, Chicken purchase date Moderators Amelia Dimoldenberg and Alessandra Ambrosio.

Other contributors include musicians Damiano David from Måneskin, DANNA, DJ Khaled, Lil Nas X, Miranda Lambert, Fat Joe, Flavor Flav and French Montana as well as Little Mermaid Star Halle Bailey, Olympic gymnast Jordan Chiles, Naomi Scott, Paris Hilton, Suki Waterhouse, Thalía and Tinashe.
