The biggest name in hockey called and Jayne’s Luxury Rentals answered.

After viewing several properties in the Muskoka area, NHL superstar and Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid and his now wife Lauren Kyle chose the “stunning” Old Woman Island on Lake Muskoka as the venue for their wedding, which took place on July 27.

Jayne’s Luxury Rentals created the setting for their big day. The 16-acre island was “a truly majestic wedding venue,” the company said on its social media pages.

“Last summer, Connor McDavid and Lauren Kyle toured several of our Muskoka properties before deciding on the stunning Old Woman Island on Lake Muskoka as their wedding venue,” the post reads. “We couldn’t agree more with their choice – this 16-acre island was a truly majestic wedding venue, so much so that even Vogue Australia couldn’t resist featuring it.”

Vogue Australia was on hand to capture this stunning day that McDavid and Kyle, as well as their family and friends, will not soon forget.

According to the article, Muskoka is a place that has always been close to the couple’s hearts. “Our favorite place in the world is our cottage in Muskoka,” Kyle told Vogue. It’s also the place where McDavid proposed to her.

“Only Love” by Ben Howard is the song he chose for the big moment, and it was the same song they chose for their first dance at their wedding.

Since the venue conveyed a true message for the newlywed couple both in the past and present, they made sure to find enough time for themselves to enjoy the moment and the surroundings.

“Connor and I did a victory lap around the island on an old wooden boat. It was so nice to have a moment together. We appreciated where we were and all the people who had come to support us. We were able to really enjoy the moment,” Kyle told Vogue Australia.
