This November, voters in Maricopa County will receive a two-page ballot, which officials say is one of the longest ballots they’ve received for a general election in recent history.
PHOENIX – Almost 100,000 people in Arizona may not be entitled to vote in the Parliamentary elections 2024 after a mistake was discovered, officials say.
The Maricopa County The Recorder’s Office said it found that 97,000 voters were able to register to vote without providing proof of citizenship.
If a driver obtained his or her license before 1996, there will be no proof of citizenship on the Department of Motor Vehicles’ records.

“The Secretary argues that the election is too close to implement such a change and that it would place an undue burden on voters and deprive them of their right to vote. That is why we are going to court to get a clear answer,” Richer wrote on X.
According to Richer, the majority of these voters are most likely U.S. citizens, but they do not have any documentary evidence.
Governor. Katie Hobbs says she is aware of the problem and has directed the MVD to work with the Secretary of State to fix it. Hobbs is also conducting an independent audit out of an abundance of caution.
Richer says he is suing the Foreign Minister‘s office “regarding the treatment of certain voters who are required to provide documented proof of their citizenship.”
