Netflix users are freaking out about the scene with the perfect couple that the cast didn’t want to do

Netflix users praise the opening credits of new series The perfect couple which the cast really didn’t want to do.

On Thursday (September 6), the streaming service released a brand new crime thriller starring Nicole Kidman as a member of a wedding party who becomes a suspect after a body is discovered hours before the ceremony is due to begin.

The six-part series, based on the bestselling novel by Elin Hilderbrand and directed by The Night ManagerSusanne Bier, received mediocre reviews from critics, with The Independent He described the crime thriller as “as silly as it is trite.”

But many are enjoying the film’s opening sequence, which features the entire cast – including Kidman, who mourned the death of her mother after winning Best Actress at the Venice Film Festival on Saturday (September 7), Liev Schreiber, Dakota Fanning and The White Lotusby Meghann Fahy – perform a synchronized dance to the song “Criminals” by Meghan Trainor.

Although the cast in the sequence looks like they are having the time of their lives, they were not happy at first when Bier explained her idea to them. In fact, a “mutiny” ensued and they formed a WhatsApp group to oust their director.

“Everyone in the group said they didn’t want to do it because we just didn’t understand it,” Fahy said diversityadding: “I actually have a really, really big problem learning the choreography, so I was very nervous about it.”

Kidman, who plays matriarch Greer, said: “I didn’t feel like Greer was dancing. I felt like Greer was watching.”

Meanwhile, Ishaan Khatter, who plays Shooter, said: “I don’t think any of us would have seen the point of doing this choreography in our role. We thought, ‘Wait, where does this fit into the bigger picture? That wasn’t part of the brief.'”

The only actor who immediately joined in was Schreiber. He said, “The whole cast rebelled against the idea, except me. I was already in my trailer practicing the dance moves.”

“I just love dancing and was a little disappointed when it turned out that I wasn’t going to be doing it anymore because I thought I was doing it really well.”

Bier explained her vision for the credits to the outlet: “I think I felt like I wanted to do something where we tell the audience, ‘This is going to be funny.’ I think that time is a little bit dark and I felt like I wanted to do something that had a lot of life.”

The perfect couple is now available to stream on Netflix.
