A new fitness space was unveiled in Junction City on Fifth Street, Playground Park, on Wednesday. The new fitness space was unveiled following a ceremonial ribbon cutting hosted by the Junction City Area Chamber of Commerce.

Kendall Schoenrock of Quality Play for All spoke about the changes Fifth Street Park has undergone and how grateful he is for the support in making these improvements.

“Fitness is directly related to quality of life,” Schoenrock said. “The more opportunities we give children and young adults to be active, the healthier we are and the better it is for the community.”

This new fitness space is part of a national fitness campaign and was provided by the City of Junction City, Quality Play for All and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas.

Members of the Junction City High School football team were on hand at the grand opening to demonstrate how the new fitness facility provides a full-body workout in seven movements.
