There have been a ton of new restaurants opening in Texarkana lately, and now you can add another one to the list that’s coming soon!

A new Japanese restaurant with all-you-can-eat sushi will soon open in the old Juicy Seafood restaurant or the original Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant on St. Michael Drive, just off I-30 West.

The name of the restaurant is “Sushi Nami” but other than that I couldn’t find any information about whether it’s a local restaurant or a national chain. In my search I couldn’t find anything that would indicate that it’s a national chain.

There is a restaurant in Metairie, Louisiana with the same name that serves the same type of food, but I don’t think they are connected in any way. I asked them for information, but they never responded, so I couldn’t get confirmation if there is a connection between the two.

The meaning of the word Sushi Nami

“Nami” means “waves” in Japanese and means they bring the freshest fish from the sea and offer customers a unique dining experience.

What is sushi?

Sushi is a Japanese dish made of medium-grain rice cooked in vinegar and served with raw or cooked seafood and various toppings or fillings. Rice is the main ingredient of sushi, not raw fish as most people believe.
