Friends Actor Matthew Perry has brought laughter and joy to countless lives, all thanks to his iconic role as the fictional Chandler Bing. In August 2024, five co-conspirators, including two doctors, were charged in connection with the actor’s fatal overdose. This notorious squad included Jasveen Sangha – “The Ketamine Queen” of North Hollywood, Dr. Salvador Plasencia, Dr. Mark Chavez, Erik Fleming and Perry’s longtime assistant Kenneth Iwamasa. The sinister web the quintet woven ultimately cost the Hollywood star his life. Perry had been open about his history of substance abuse and detailed his relationship with addiction in the memoir “Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing.”

But because doctors were also involved in the elaborate plan to exploit the actor, Perry’s case shed an even brighter light on Hollywood’s thriving, secret drug ring that ruined who knows how many lives.

TMZ’s Matthew Perry documentary airs tomorrow

The new documentary, TMZ Investigates Matthew Perry and the Secret Celebrity Drug Ring, which hits theaters tomorrow, will once again focus on the shady business that hides in plain sight. Famous celebrities like Kelly Osbourne will drop all inhibitions and speak openly about the dirty tricks of doctors who push known drug addicts deeper into the dark terrain in order to expand their contacts in the industry and reap immoral profits.

TMZ reports that Jackass star Brandon Novak will also openly admit “how he traded loot for drugs at doctors’ offices.” In addition, media star and addiction medicine specialist Dr. Drew will join the discussion to expose the “downright sociopathic” behavior of the doctors involved in this monkey business. The renowned expert will reveal the dirty secrets of a network of doctors who are no longer true to their once ethical profession.

The documentary as a whole will also expose supporters and rehab centers connected to the secret drug ring. The new TMZ documentary on Matthew Perry will air on Monday, September 16 at 9 p.m. ET on FOX. The streaming premiere is scheduled for Tuesday on Hulu.
