CHERRY HILL, NJ — An Asian fusion restaurant is one of several restaurants coming to the Cherry Hill Mall.

Kooma Asian Fusion and Sushi Bar is slated to open this fall, according to PREIT, the mall’s parent company. The restaurant will be Kooma’s first in New Jersey, with two others in eastern Pennsylvania.

The restaurants offer hand-picked ingredients and a wide selection of sushi. Kooma’s menu also includes stone-pot bibimbaps, stir-fries and other delicacies.

Here’s what else is on the way to Cherry Hill Mall, along with the expected opening time of each store:

• Signature workspace: a co-working space provider (autumn)
• Lacoste: French fashion brand known for its polo shirts and casual wear (fall)
• Alo Yoga: Activewear and lifestyle products (opening at Christmas time)
• Columbia Sportswear: a leading outdoor and sportswear brand (opening during the holiday season)
• Kendra Scott: known for unique jewelry and accessories (winter)
• Rowan: Specialization in modern ear piercing (spring 2025)
• Dry goods: trendy women’s fashion (spring or summer 2025)
• Mango: a Spanish retailer specializing in Mediterranean-inspired fashion (Summer 2025)

Despite PREIT’s turmoil in recent years, Cherry Hill Mall has long been the company’s best-performing mall, and some of the soon-to-open stores, such as Kooma and Signature Workspace, reflect the mall’s ambitions to continue to evolve into a community hub that offers more than just retail.

In December, PREIT filed for bankruptcy for the second time in three years. The company completed the restructuring process a few months later and was taken over by a small group of investment firms.

PREIT, headquartered in Philadelphia, counts 17 shopping centers among its assets, including Moorestown Mall.

Paula Charles, vice president of leasing at PREIT, expressed optimism about the growth of Cherry Hill Mall.

“With strong traffic and great tenants, Cherry Hill Mall is a key destination for retailers entering or expanding in the area,” Charles said in a statement. “This continued leasing momentum reflects our commitment to evolving with consumer preferences and maintaining our position as a premier shopping destination.”
