NFL Week 1 Results, Live Updates: Russell Wilson out, Ja’Marr Chase active, Dak Prescott signs record QB contract

The 2024 NFL season has begun, and with the first two games completed, things really get going today with the first full football Sunday of the season. On Thursday night, the Kansas City Chiefs opened their quest for a third consecutive Super Bowl with a 27-20 win over the Baltimore Ravens that could prove to be a potential tiebreaker for the AFC playoff spot. On Friday night, the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Green Bay Packers 34-29 in the first NFL game in Brazil. Jordan Love left the game at the very end and is out for 3-6 weeks with an MCL strain.

    Dolphins receiver Jaylen Waddle was taken out of the game during the first half of the game against the Jaguars to be evaluated for a concussion, but returned before the end of the second quarter.

  • A cracker to start in Buffalo. The Cardinals have just extended their lead over the Bills to 17:3 thanks to a touchdown run by James Conner.

  • Sam Darnold has completed 10 of 10 throws for 136 yards and a touchdown in his debut for the Vikings.

  • Tony Pollard’s first big point for the Titans. A 27-yard touchdown run gives the Titans a 7-0 lead over the Bears.

  • Sam Darnold’s first touchdown with the Vikings goes to Justin Jefferson.

  • Report: Packers do not hire Ryan Tannehill

    After Dianna Russini reported that the Packers had contacted quarterback Ryan Tannehill, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero stated that this was not the case.

    Green Bay seems to be able to cope with Malik Willis and Sean Clifford, while Jordan Love is expected to be out for a maximum of six weeks due to his sprained medial ligament.

    What a way Anthony Richardson shows he’s back for the 2024 season. The second-year Colts quarterback threw a 55-yard throw to Alec Pierce. And he slipped before he could make the throw!

    That pass wouldn’t count in college football, but Texans quarterback CJ Stroud made a spectacular play early on. The sophomore star slipped and fell to his knees, but still managed a fourth-down pass to Brevin Jordan.

    Bryce Young probably wants his first throw of the 2024 season back. Adam Thielen was missing at center, the pass was intercepted by Will Harris of the Saints.

  • Miami-Dade Police Department Statement on Tyreek Hill Detention

    Tyreek Hill started the Dolphins’ Week 1 game against the Jaguars and has already caught a pass, but Miami-Dade police issued a statement saying officers handcuffed and arrested the pass receiver outside Hard Rock Stadium this morning.

  • Bengals WR Tee Higgins out with hamstring injury

    Ja’Marr Chase is active for the Bengals, but Cincinnati is without its other top receiver as Tee Higgins is out with a hamstring injury.

  • Report: Packers contact QB Ryan Tannehill

    The Green Bay Packers plan to start Malik Willis in their Week 2 game against the Colts while Jordan Love recovers from a strained medial collateral ligament that is expected to keep him out of action for two to four weeks.

    However, the team is also considering experienced options. Ryan Tannehill is probably the most attractive QB available and the Packers have inquired about him, according to Dianna Russini of The Athletic.

  • The Caleb Williams era begins for the Bears

    No. 1 overall draft pick Caleb Williams leads the Chicago Bears out of the tunnel for their Week 1 opener against the Tennessee Titans.

    The rookie QB is one of eight team captains selected by his teammates.
