The New Orleans Saints were a disaster through the first two weeks of the season, but the Philadelphia Eagles put an end to that in Week 3. Their defense was able to prevent Derek Carr and Alvin Kamara from overrunning them, and thanks to late recovery efforts from Saquon Barkley and Dallas Goedert, the Eagles managed to pull out a narrow win in New Orleans.
More surprises followed. The New York Giants, led by their outstanding wide receiver Malik Nabers, held the Cleveland Browns at bay. The Minnesota Vikings swept the Houston Texans thanks to another great performance from quarterback Sam Darnold. The Denver Broncos surprised the up-and-coming Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a strong win (quarterback Bo Nix’s first in the NFL). The Green Bay Packers didn’t need Jordan Love at quarterback against the Tennessee Titans, but that didn’t matter because Malik Willis took care of things and doubled up the Titans.
