While the last few months have been quite eventful for Pokemon Go fans, with a number of updates and events, some of which have been quite controversial. For example, the most recent backlash was due to the Adventure Week event, as fans despised its various aspects.

Trainers criticize Niantic’s false discounts in Pokémon Go

Pokemon GoThe latest update has brought many changes and bug fixes for the game. However, it also brought a surprising change to the in-game app store that left players completely confused.

The update brought discount labels for various Pokemon Go items, but there were no price adjustments. Instead, Pokecoins for items like Hatch Boxes, Star Pieces, and Premium Battle Passes were changed to reflect how much money Trainers can save by purchasing packs.

The problem with this change, however, is that trainers already know the true value and prices of these items. Players on Reddit believe the label is a ploy by Niantic to give players a false impression of discounts and get them to spend more.

Many players also believe that this is the beginning of Niantic’s attempts to increase the prices of various items in the Pokemon Go Store. Although the studio has not indicated that it plans to increase the prices of items available in the store, it has done so before, and that is raising concerns among players.

Considering the fact that Niantic has had a lot of success lately in introducing really decent changes to the game rather than actively trying to ruin it, it’s disappointing to see the developer resort to such tricks. It’s nothing more than a bad move by the studio, which is already considered one of the worst companies among gamers.
