Apparently, it’s YMCMB for life. Nicki Minaj spoke out in support of Lil Wayne and seemed to take aim at Jay-Z after the NFL passed over Weezy in favor of Kendrick Lamar for the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show.
At Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans, Minaj took issue with Jay – who serves as co-producer of the NFL Halftime Show – and the league’s decision to ignore her mentor and the leader of Young Money, leading to a heated rant from the Queens rap legend on Monday afternoon (September 9).
“Go enjoy your damn money before it’s too late… One n–a kneeled, the other took the bag,” she wrote, while subtly insulting Hov. “He’ll catch you n—s in line every damn time.”
She continued, “Got everything in the world. Still spiteful and evil. Disgusting. Be happy Abeg. Go be damn happy n!gg@!!!!!!!! In the rap business. In the women business. When you got the politicians and the police you good though. And that ugly laughing cute alien… LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOO.”
Nicki didn’t stop there and apparently blamed Jay’s ego and his hatred of Birdman, Drake and himself for Wayne’s rejection.
“Denying a young black man what he rightfully invested in this game for no other reason than your ego. Your hatred for BIRDMAN, Drake and Nicki made you punish Lil Wayne?!?!!! LIL WAYNE!!!!!!!!!!! THE GOAT?!!!!!!!!!!!! Nola what’s good,” she wrote. “Eminem insisted 50Cent come out. A white man. So sad. House N—R TINGZ. But it’s GOOD FOR THEM!!!!!!! No loyalty? Oh well. Then n—z will keep getting you drunk!!!!!”
Birdman even chimed in, as the Cash Money president seems disgusted by the NFL’s decision. “Smfh… This n–az pussy @NICKIMINAJ @Drake @LilTunechi YMCMB,” he added on X. “I’m gonna make this n–az respect us Gladys… Hates sh-t for real.”
Billboard has reached out to Jay-Z’s representative at Roc Nation for comment.
The NFL announced Sunday (Sept. 8) that Kendrick Lamar will headline when the big game comes to New Orleans on Feb. 9, 2025.
Others outside the Young Money family have also spoken out in Wayne’s defense, including Master P, Boosie Badazz, Cam’ron and Mase. Lil Wayne himself has yet to publicly comment on the NFL’s move.
