ELKHART, Indiana – REAL News Michiana has found out that the top cop for the small Starke County town of North Judson was caught shoplifting at a Walmart in Elkhart. According to the indictment, Town Marshal Kelly Fisher was with her wife, Christina Fisher, when they were observed “skipping the scan” while shopping by holding multiple items at once and skipping certain items at the self-checkout counter. The pair stole about $150 worth of men’s clothing, candy and dog treats.

According to court records, the incident occurred on Jan. 25 at the Walmart at 30830 Old US Highway 20. However, charges were not filed against the Fishers until March. Kelly Fisher accepted an out-of-court diversion deal earlier this month.

City officials said Kelly Fisher resigned as city marshal yesterday. Officials said they were recently informed of the theft allegations but declined to comment further.
