NYT Strands today (Game No. 185) – the answers
The answers to today’s Strands, Game No. 185, are…
- ARCHES
- GLACIER
- REDWOOD
- SAGUARO
- WASTELAND
- SPANGRAM: NATIONAL PARKS
- My rating: Difficult
- My result: 4 Notes
This is one of those Strands games that will prove much, much harder if you don’t live in the United States (or don’t have extensive knowledge of the United States). I’m not going to complain about it at length – the New York Times is a US publication, so I understand why it has its focus there – but from my perspective it’s a deeply unsatisfying game, as I had little chance of solving it without many clues. And why should I? I also doubt the average American citizen can name all that many British national parks…
So my game here was simply to ask for a clue, find the word, find more clue words, ask for another, and repeat. I got the Spangram and BADLANDS, but I’m afraid I hadn’t even heard of SAGUARO, ARCHES, or GLACIER, so I really had little chance of getting a full score here.
How did you do today? Send me an email and let me know.
