Vera was born on July 30, 1943 in Maury County to the late Ernest Merrell Rose and the late Ruby Carlyne Beckenbach Rose. She attended Mynders School and graduated from Columbia Central High School in 1961. Vera owned and operated Lucille’s Restaurant with her husband for 27 years until her retirement. During her time as owner, she made many friends. Vera enjoyed caring for flowers, loved nature, wild animals, and watching Jimmy Swaggart’s praises and worship. She also enjoyed listening to gospel music, but most of all, she loved her family! She also had a special love for her daughter’s Yorkie, Kingston, who had a special bond with her and gave her unconditional love. Vera attended First Assembly of God/C1.

She is survived by her children Anita (Ronald) Ring, Randy (Alisa) Helmick, Tammy (Keith) Lyons and Teresa (Todd) Doyle; her sister Merrellyn McCormick; her sister-in-law Joy Turner; her stepchildren Don (Ann) Allen, Michael (Freda) Allen, Wade (Dana) Allen and Corrine (Bobby) McKee; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and the love of her life, Bobby Joe Allen (on March 24, 2016), two brothers, James Rose and Don Rose, and two sisters, Linda Rose and Christine Riddle.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren Matthew Ring, Asa Aldridge, Logan Doyle, Ethan Stewmon, Hunter Lyons and Conor Doyle.

We will miss Vera very much, but her memory will remain forever in the hearts of those who loved her. God holds you in his arms and we hold you in our hearts!

The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Gibran Naddy and the nurses at Compassus Hospice.
