Old North State Food Hall welcomes burger joint The Blue Taco

Old North State Food Hall has announced the opening of two new restaurants.

Mr. Outrageous, a branch of the popular local food truck, has already opened in the food hall. Clayton resident Marquis Reese owns the truck and restaurant, which serves unique takes on specialty burgers, hash browns and French fries.

“When I decided to expand my business, I knew I wanted to be in Selma and be part of the city’s growth,” Reese said.

Blue Taco will open later this month at the Food Hall at 67 JR Road in Selma. This is the latest concept from Danny and Sheri Gonzalez, owners of Aroma de Cuba, one of the original Food Hall vendors. The menu features traditional white and blue taco shells filled with traditional taco fillings – pork, chicken, beef or vegetarian.

“The star of the show will be the blue taco variant. Our ingredients and spice blends will resemble the simple and flavorful dishes you would find at the locals,” said Danny Gonzalez.

These vendors will join current tenants Aroma de Cuba, Luna Pizza, Nai Thai Asian Fusion Food Express, The Ice Storm, The Hot Dog Bar, JoCo Coffee Co, White Swan BBQ and Longleaf Tavern.

Another innovation in the food hall is children’s meals in most restaurants.
