Olivia Munn and John Mulaney announce the birth of their second child

Actress Olivia Munn and comedian John Mulaney has welcomed a new child into the family, the couple announced on social media on Sunday.

“Méi June Mulaney was born on September 14, 2024, the year of the dragon,” Munn wrote in an Instagram post that included a photo of her sitting on Mulaney’s lap holding her baby.

Munn, 44, shared in a post that her daughter’s name is pronounced “May” and means plum in Chinese.

“I am so proud of my little plum, my little dragon, for making the journey to us. My heart exploded,” she said in the post.

Munn said the girl was born through a surrogate mother, whom she described as “a true angel.”

Munn announced earlier this year that she She had been diagnosed with breast cancer and had undergone a bilateral mastectomy.

In an interview with Vogue in May, Munn said she underwent a hysterectomy while undergoing breast cancer treatment and plans to use a surrogate for future children.

She also shared that in response to the diagnosis and its impact on her ability to have children, she had her eggs frozen three times – at ages 33, 39 and recently at 42.

“I had so many deep emotions about not being able to carry my daughter. When I first met our surrogate, we spoke mother to mother. She showed me so much kindness and understanding that I knew I had found a true angel. Words cannot express my gratitude for her protecting our baby for nine months and making our dreams come true,” Munn wrote on Instagram.

Mulaney, 42, also announced the newborn’s arrival on Instagram.

“We stole so much stuff from the hospital,” he joked. “I love my little girl so much.”

The couple had their first child, a son named Malcolm, in November 2021. Munn and Mulaney married in July.
