Three people were injured when flames broke out in a parking deck at Charlotte Douglas International Airport on Saturday morning.
“Units on scene, smoke and fire coming from the parking deck,” Charlotte Fire Department officials said shortly after 9:30 a.m. on X, the former Twitter account. “A second alarm has been triggered.”
A paramedic took one person to the hospital for further examination, fire officials said.
Sixty firefighters had the fire under control within 40 minutes; the cause of the fire is still being investigated, according to the fire department.
“Airport operations were not affected, but parking delays are to be expected,” fire department officials said.
The fire broke out shortly after 9 a.m. in the hour deck, where four cars caught fire, Charlotte Observer news partner WSOC reported.
