ONE-Dyas receives final approvals for Dutch-German natural gas project

ONE-Dyas BV has received permits to develop the N05-A gas field and surrounding deposits in the German part of the North Sea (OGJ Online, September 28, 2022).

With the approvals from the State Office for Mining, Energy and Geology (LBEG), which is subordinate to the Lower Saxony Ministry of Economic Affairs, Transport, Construction and Digitization, ONE-Dyas now has all approvals in Germany and the Netherlands for the Dutch-German project.

The N05-A platform was installed on August 6, 2024 in the Netherlands, approximately 20 km north of the islands of Borkum, Rottumerplaat and Schiermonnikoog and 1.5 km from German waters. A maximum of 12 wells will be drilled from the platform, some of which will lead to the N05-A field and others to adjacent fields (prospects) that may contain gas. The gas will be transported through a newly built 13 km pipeline from the platform to the NGT pipeline.

The N05-A platform will be powered solely by the nearby German offshore wind farm Riffgat and will be the first offshore gas platform in the North Sea to be powered solely by wind energy, the company said. First gas is expected by the end of the year.

The N05-A project is part of the Gateway to the Ems (GEMS) area, about 20–100 km north of the mouth of the Ems, in waters about 25 m deep. The N05-A field is located 4 km below the surface.

Hansa Hydrocarbons (part of Discover Exploration Ltd.) and Energie Beheer Nederland are partners in the project.
