LONG BRANCH – A man was shot and killed at a train station Monday night.
Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago said police found the victim on the platform of the Long Branch NJ Transit station around 7:40 p.m. The man was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The shooting is currently being investigated by NJ Transit and Long Branch police under the direction of the Monmouth County District Attorney’s Office Major Crimes Unit. Santiago did not release the identity of the victim or the circumstances of the shooting.
The investigation into the shooting had no impact on train traffic.
