Similar to Dawg Days, Ferris State’s “One Stop Shop” event on Saturday, August 24, will meet the various needs of prospective students with last-minute questions.

BIG RAPIDS, Michigan —

Ferris State University students can have their final questions answered on Saturday, August 24, from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the One Stop Shop in the Timme Center for Student Services.

Kristen Salomonson, dean of enrollment services, said staff from several offices will be available on the ground floor of the Timme Center for Student Services, including admissions, counseling, financial aid and Student Financial Services.

Salomonson said the team will be available to answer questions or provide support about these and other campus operations, either in person or over the phone.

Salomonson said one goal is to answer questions on a variety of topics important to students and families preparing for college, in person and by phone.

“The One Stop Shop wants to get the fall 2024 semester off to a great start. We welcome students to visit us at the Timme Center that day,” said Salomonson. “Faculty, staff and administrators will be on hand and excited to connect with them as they return to their lives as Bulldogs in Big Rapids.”

Students can visit the Timme Center, 1201 S State St., on August 24 between 10:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. for assistance with advising, applications, bills, or student financial aid. Staff can answer specific questions about the admissions process, including applications, by calling (231) 591-2000 during this time.

Financial assistance experts will also be available in person or by phone at (231) 591-2110 on Saturday, August 24, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

“If a student needs anything, such as submitting an application or having other questions, the main campus number (231) 591-2000 is the number to call,” Salomonson said. “Financial aid specialists are available at (231) 591-2110 to help, and we want to make sure the fall 2024 semester starts off well for students. We welcome students to visit us at the Timme Center that day. Staff and administrators will be there and look forward to connecting with them as they return to their lives as Bulldogs in Big Rapids.”

Director of Academic Advising Michael Zaborowski said it is not a problem for students to add one or more courses. He said students have staff available to help them start and stay on their academic path.

“Academic advisors are available to help students create a schedule for their fall semester,” Zaborowski said. “We are also happy to schedule detailed follow-up appointments that prepare students for their time at Ferris.”

The first day of the fall semester 2024 is Monday, August 26.
