Opening of a famous Californian donut shop in the Phoenix metropolitan area

California-based Randy’s Donuts is opening a second Arizona location in Chandler.

The iconic doughnut shop opened in Inglewood, California in 1952, attracting visitors with its giant doughnut on the roof. Since then, it has appeared in numerous films such as Iron Man 2, Get Shorty and Mars Attacks!, as well as television shows such as Arrested Development and The Simpsons.

Hollywood’s famous doughnut shop opened its first Arizona location on Seventh Street north of Montebello Avenue on April 25. At the time, local manager Brian Padilla promised more locations, and he’s already keeping his promises. Near the corner of 40th Street and Willis Road, the Chandler store is scheduled to open at 6 a.m. on August 29.

Additional locations will be announced in September.

“Our first location in Phoenix was a huge success,” Padilla said in a press release. “People know Randy’s Donuts from our appearances in movies and television shows. We are honored to be a part of the company’s 70+ year history. Our donuts are delicious and we look forward to expanding throughout the greater Phoenix area.”

How to visit Randy’s Donuts Chandler

To celebrate the grand opening at 6 a.m. on August 29, Randy’s will be giving away free glazed doughnuts to the first 100 people in line. Customers can also enter a drawing to win a free dozen classic doughnuts every month for a year. Randy’s will announce the three winners on September 1. Check social media and the new store for more information.

There are 60 different types of doughnuts in yeast, glazed, cake and filled forms, as well as Randy’s Rounds – slightly larger doughnut holes than usual. The menu also includes coffee drinks and boba tea.
