CHESHIRE, CT — A father-son duo is opening a new ice cream shop in the former Sweet Claude’s Ice Cream building in Cheshire, according to the Cheshire Herald.

The Cheshire Herald reports that Dinesh and Shahan Kukreja plan to open their third Micro Creamery of Connecticut in October on the property at 830 South Main St. Sweet Claude’s closed its longtime location two years ago and moved to the Ball & Socket Arts Center.

The Kukrejas also own Micro Creamery of Connecticut locations in Woodbridge and Milford.

Micro Creamery is “driven by our passion for community and to provide our customers with some of CT’s highest quality, handcrafted ice cream,” says a post on the company’s website.

“With locations in Woodbridge and Milford, we are creating a family-friendly environment that also welcomes dogs and a place where people can create memories that will last forever,” the post reads. “Our motto is inspired by the ever-popular microbrewery concept. We have 6 different local vendors with over 70 flavors of ice cream from across Connecticut.”

Micro Creamery’s current suppliers are Big Dipper in Prospect, Praline’s in Wallingford, Buck’s Ice Cream in Milford, Salem Valley Farms in Salem, Arethusa Farm in Bantam and Cold Fusion Gelato in Westport.
