WHERE: Speed ​​Art Museum, 2035 S. Third St. Parking spaces for media are available in the museum garage.

WHY: The Speed ​​​​Art Museum will be the setting for a new in-house culinary gem. Founded in 1927 by Marigold will open on Wednesday, August 21st, offering upscale comfort food to its guests, the students, faculty and staff of the University of Louisville, and anyone simply craving a new dining experience in Old Louisville. The cafe’s name is a nod to the museum’s opening date and its close connection to Louisville and the Commonwealth. The new restaurant is operated by Adrienne and Kris Colethe husband and wife team behind Marigold Catering Co and the House of Marigold restaurant. Kris will serve as the restaurant’s culinary director and head chef, while Adrienne will oversee all service operations. The company is the museum’s exclusive catering partner.

“Our goal is to create a welcoming, artful space that brings people together over delicious and nutritious dishes using ingredients from farmers in Kentucky and beyond,” said director Raphaela Platow.

10am-4pm Wednesday – Saturday; + Café open during selected museum events
