CONCORD, NH — E. & J. Gallo Winery, Pine State Beverage and the New Hampshire Liquor Commission (NHLC) recently joined forces to support the New Hampshire Food Bank’s mission to combat food insecurity across the Granite State. E. & J. Gallo Winery donated 50 cents to the New Hampshire Food Bank from the sale of select bottles of wine offered at NH Liquor & Wine Outlets during the months of November and December 2023, raising a record $80,000 over the course of the two-month program. Since 2016, this collaboration has donated more than $264,000 to the New Hampshire Food Bank, a program of Catholic Charities New Hampshire.

“As a responsible business partner, we are committed to supporting nonprofits and giving back to our communities,” said Joseph Mollica, Chairman of the NHLC. “Through our partnership with E. & J. Gallo Winery and Pine State Beverage, we have made great strides in supporting the New Hampshire Food Bank and its goal of distributing nutritious food to those in need. We are extremely grateful to our 12 million annual customers for joining in our mission to give back.”

The New Hampshire Food Bank can turn every dollar raised into about two nutritious meals. This year’s record donation generated 160,000 meals for the one in ten New Hampshire residents who don’t have enough to eat and don’t know where their next meal is coming from. Wines featured in this year’s initiative were from Da Vinci, Fleur de Mer, Louis M. Martini, Franciscan, Whitehaven, Vino Nobile and J Vineyards & Winery.

“Pine State Beverage is thrilled to have the opportunity to once again partner with two admirable organizations to make an impact greater than any of us can,” said Joe Ricci, Director of Sales and Marketing at Pine State Beverage. “With the 2023 program, we have raised funds to meet the needs of many individuals and families in need across the Granite State. We look forward to building on this initiative and helping to combat food insecurity nationwide in the years to come.”

In addition to the New Hampshire Food Bank, NHLC has partnered with numerous suppliers and brokers to raise more than $4 million for nonprofits making a difference in New Hampshire and beyond, including Best Buddies New Hampshire, Easterseals New Hampshire, Swim With A Mission, Pink Revolution of New Hampshire, Animal Rescue League of New Hampshire, Live and Let Live Farm and Friends of the Manchester Animal Shelter.

“As the state’s only food bank, we rely on the support of our dedicated community partners to fight hunger in New Hampshire,” said Eileen Liponis, executive director of the New Hampshire Food Bank. “Over the past eight years, this program has raised a significant amount of money, allowing us to continue to provide nutritious meals and perishable food items to those in need. We are incredibly grateful to E. & J. Gallo Winery, Pine State Beverage and NHLC for their funding and continued support of our mission.”
