GREEN BAY — The Green Bay Packers have ruled out an ankle injury for Jordan Love. He will undergo an MRI on his injured leg after the team returns from its trip to Brazil, according to a report from Dianna Russini of The Athletic.

Additionally, Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network reported that initial examinations of Love’s knee showed that the anterior cruciate ligament was intact.

Love sustained the injury Friday night toward the end of the Packers’ 34-29 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Sao Paulo, Brazil, when he twisted his leg while trying to escape the grasp of some Eagles defenders. He doubled over in pain and then remained on the field for several minutes before requiring assistance from the field to take the weight off his leg.

After the game, PackersNews reporter Tom Silverstein reported that Love walked without a limp in the locker room and that teammates who watched the game thought he had injured his knee.

Pete Dougherty: The Packers must hope that Jordan Love’s forgettable start will not be unforgettable for another reason
