Paris 2024 Paralympics Closing Ceremony: The Paralympics Games will conclude on Sunday 8 September, after days of thrilling and breathtaking performances by Para-athletes from around the world. The Paralympics Closing Ceremony will take place at the Stade de France, after an 11-day series of incredible sporting events that saw Paralympic records and new world records set.

The 17th edition of the Paralympics in Paris will mark the end of the season with major celebrations at the Stade de France. The closing ceremony will honour the 4,400 athletes from 168 Paralympic delegations who took part in 549 events in 22 sports this year.

The grand finale will feature 24 artists from the French electronic music scene, reported The Times of IndiaIn addition, the final day of the Paralympics in Paris will feature traditional protocols, including speeches, anthems and the handover of the Paralympic flag to the next host of the 2028 Summer Olympics.

Notable performances scheduled to take place today include jazz pianist Matthew Whitaker, violinist and singer-songwriter Gaelynn Lea, rapper, songwriter and athlete Garnett Silver-Hall and performing artist Anderson .Paak, reported The Times of India.

The next Summer Paralympics will be held in Los Angeles, USA in 2028. Tony Award-winning actress and Broadway luminary Ali Stroker will reportedly sing the US national anthem during the handover ceremony.

The grand finale of the Paralympic Games in Paris can be watched today at 11:30 p.m. on the channels DD Sports and Sports 18. The JIO Cinema platform also offers the option of live and online streaming.

India’s performance at the Paris Paralympics

India has won a total of 29 medals at the Paris Paralympics so far, including seven gold, nine silver and thirteen bronze. With javelin thrower Navdeep Singh’s gold medal and sprinter Simran’s bronze medal, the country is currently ranked 15th in the medal tally.
