Parker McCollum is back on country radio with his next single: “What Kinda Man.”

“I really fell in love with the song and was excited to record it. And it’s pretty, it’s pretty honest,” McCollum said. “I mean, it’s pretty true. You know, Hallie Ray was that for me. She was, I never wanted to get married, never wanted to have kids. And then I met her and, you know, that completely changed my mind about all of that. So I don’t think that if I hadn’t met her, I never would have done the deal. And so the song is kind of an unintentional way of explaining that.”

He added, “I couldn’t be more excited to share this new music with the world, especially this new single ‘What Kinda Man’. Lately I’ve been going back to that sound and roots that I started with. I think this new song is my way of rekindling that and creating something that feels like home for me and my fans. I hope the world loves it.”

The Texas country singer and songwriter will take the stage of the iconic Grand Ole Opry House for the first televised performance of “What Kinda Man” at the upcoming People’s Choice Country Awards.

It is nominated for the cover song of the year 2024 with its interpretation of John Mayer‘s “Perfectly Lonely”. The People’s Choice Country Awards will be broadcast live from the Opry House on September 26th on NBC and streaming on peacock.
