Patriots-Jets TNF: Betting tips and open thread

Patriots-Jets TNF: Betting tips and open thread

We’ll see back-to-back AFC East games on Thursday Night Football as Week 3 of the 2024 NFL season begins with the New England Patriots visiting the New York Jets.

At the start of the season, on paper, this game looked like it could be a blowout. However, the Patriots surprised everyone by beating the Bengals in the season opener and forcing the Seahawks into overtime last week. The Jets, on the other hand, were annihilated by the 49ers in Week 1 and pulled off a narrow seven-point win over the Titans last Sunday.

So we could be in for a secretly good competition.

Here you can discuss the game and your betting tips with other Las Vegas Raiders fans, as the following lines are provided by FanDuel Sportsbook.

Patriots vs Jets

  • Spread: NYSE -6.5
  • Over/Under: 38.5
  • NYJ ML: -260
  • NE ML: +215

Holders Tips: NJY -6.5, Under 38.5, NYJ ML

While all of the above is true, New England has a bad offensive line and is already down two starters up front while two others are injured. That’s a disastrous combination against New York’s defensive line, which is one of the reasons I’m going under. I think this is a “get it together” game for Aaron Rodgers and the Jets as a whole.

According to the injury report, the Patriots have ruled out linebacker Ja’Whaun Bently (shoulder), offensive tackle Vederian Lowe (knee), guard Sidy Sow (ankle) and linebacker Oshane Ximines (no injury specified). Center David Andrews (hip), offensive tackle Mike Onwenu (wrist), safety Jabrill Peppers (shoulder) and defensive end Deatrich Wise (shoulder) are questionable. Meanwhile, outside linebacker Jermaine Johnson II (Achilles tendon) is out and linebacker CJ Mosley (toe) is questionable for the Jets.
