Richard Benjamin Harrison

Richard Benjamin Harrisonaffectionately known as “The Old Man”, is the founder and pillar behind the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop. Long before Pawn Stars Despite his fame, Richard had lived a turbulent life full of hardships. After serving in the US Navy, he tried his hand at real estate. But as is the nature of business, his efforts were in vain and he lost a million dollars. Looking for a fresh start, Richard packed his bags and moved his entire family to Las Vegas in the hope of making his fortune. In Sin City, Richard decided to open the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in 1988.

The retired Marine not only had to run the store, but also learn to demonstrate his expertise. Since his job involved dealing primarily in antiques, Richard had a keen eye for assessing the value of everything from Rolex watches to vintage cars. His exceptional ability eventually helped him turn his initial $10,000 investment into a respected multimillion-dollar business. Coming from a family in uniform, Richard not only had the professional competence to keep his store running, but he also built it on discipline. Always one for tough negotiations, it takes a lot to please Richard, including his sons.


Sadly, Richard passed away on June 25, 2018 at the age of 77. Up until his death, Richard was heavily involved in the pawn shop in his final years. Richard was named to the Times 100 list in 2012 and received a key to the city of his hometown of Lexington. He remains an influential figure to this day.

Rick Harrison

Like father, like son. Rick Harrisonaka “The Spotter,” has an eye just as keen as his old man’s. Much like his late father could accurately calculate the value of rare collectibles, Rick can easily spot anything that is fake or stolen. Rick began training as a pawnbroker when he was 13. When people his age were deciding which college to go to, Rick dropped out of high school to sell fake Gucci bags, making a lucrative $2,000 a week. With enough money in his wallet, Rick becomes his father’s business partner at age 23. With 28 years of business experience (and counting), Rick’s general knowledge of a variety of items, from fine art to rare, historical curiosities, has served him well in determining an item’s value.


However, Rick’s biggest contribution to the business is the show Pawn Stars himself. Always looking for ways to get attention, Rick is constantly reaching out to local media and cable TV shows to put the store in the spotlight and attract even more customers. It wasn’t long before Rick turned the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop into a reality TV show, which he sent to various networks. Not everyone was keen on the idea, especially Rick’s father. When Rick finally managed to find a crew to film a test episode on a Saturday, Richard wasn’t thrilled with the idea of ​​having to come in to shop on a day off. Despite initial conflict, the sizzle reel eventually found its way to the History Channel. With Rick’s determination Pawn Stars has premiered a whopping 22 seasons and the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop attracts up to 3,000 customers a day, making the store a popular tourist attraction in Las Vegas.


Corey Harrison

Corey “Big Hoss” Harrison is Rick’s first son, whom he had with his first wife Kim. Corey follows in the footsteps of his predecessors took his first steps in the pawn shop business at the tender age of 9. Not only does Corey have his father’s keen eye for spotting scammers, but his already impressive skills are complemented by a more modern and tech-savvy side. Corey is in charge of HR, meaning he hires employees and fires them when necessary. He is also the man in charge of taking care of eBay customers. Most recently, Corey was arrested in Las Vegas for driving under the influence. Pawn Stars One actor was observed driving his white Ford pickup truck dangerously, swerving between the right lane and the bike path. Upon investigation, it was discovered that his car smelled of alcohol.

Adam Harrison

Adam Harrison is Rick’s second son, whom he had with his first wife Kim. Unlike Corey, Adam is never in Pawn Stars. Unfortunately, everything changed when news of Adam’s sudden death hit the press. In January 2024, it was reported that Adam was found dead on January 19 after a fentanyl overdose. He was only 39 years old. Just like his father and older brother Corey, Jake appeared in season 18 of Pawn StarsLike any newbie, Jake is put to the test. His induction includes being able to tell a fake Rolex from a real one by simply spotting the green color on the fake. As the de facto butt of the boys’ jokes, he provides laughs in the store. His friendly demeanor makes him the ultimate customer service professional, constantly taking sides with his other customers. But sometimes his heart of gold gets the better of him and does the store more harm than good.


Chumlee often takes his clients’ side and is the man to turn to when it comes to getting the best deals, which don’t always align with Rick’s strict business approach. And as if that wasn’t enough, Chum constantly encourages Corey to buy the silliest things that don’t make money, like video games and circus memorabilia. Unfortunately, Chumlee hasn’t exactly had the best of years lately. Previously, Chumlee was charged after guns and drugs were found in his home.
