Pet Valu appoints new President and Chief Operating Officer

Greg Ramier joins Pet Valu from Canadian food giant Loblaw Companies Limited, where he held various positions for more than 23 years.

Canadian pet supplies retailer Pet Valu Holdings Ltd. has expanded its leadership team by filling a newly created position.

Greg Ramier has joined the company as President and Chief Operating Officer, effective today. He will oversee the execution of strategic initiatives while driving long-term profitability. Pet Valus executives for Merchandising, Marketing & Digital, Supply Chain, Franchise Store Operations and Corporate Store Operations will report to Ramier, who will report directly to Pet Valus CEO Richard Maltsbarger.

“Greg brings Pet Value “He brings a wealth of retail, trading, operations and management experience gained in leadership roles over the course of his 30-year career,” said Maltsbarger. “We look forward to the additional focus and deep understanding of retail that he will bring to our strategic growth and operational efficiency priorities.”

Previously, Ramier worked at Canadian grocery giant Loblaw Companies Limited, where he held various positions for over 23 years, most recently for six years as President of the Market Division, Loblaw’s nationwide full-service grocery store.
