Picture House’s Picnic in the Park previews ‘My Old Ass’ – Pelham Examiner

August 21, 2024 – Pelham and Bronxville, NYThe Picture House Regional Film Center announced today that its annual fall fundraiser, Picnic in the parkon September 7, 2024, will show a special advance screening of Aubrey Plaza’s new comedy My old ass. This coming-of-age film, which has been selected for the 2024 Sundance Film Festival, also stars the young and talented actress Maisy Stella, known for her breakthrough role in the hit ABC series Nashville. Picnic in the park is a beloved community tradition that brings together movies, food trucks and dancing under the stars for an unforgettable night. The End of Summer Soiree begins at 6:00 p.m. in our newly added outdoor area, The terrace at the Picture House in Pelham, next to the beautifully renovated 1921 Pelham Theater. After the screening, guests will head to Wolfs Lane Park directly across from the theater where they can enjoy drinks and dinner from a selection of food trucks including Jiannetto’s Pizza, Tecas Tacos, Walter’s Hot Dogs and Bona Bona Ice Cream, as well as music by NY Event Sounds and performed by DJ Luis Williams.

Picnic in the Park ’24 is led by Courtney Maron, Jason Feldman, Amanda Starr and Emily Donnelly. The event’s main sponsor is Meridian Risk Management.

This year’s film, Amazon Studios’ My old ass, is a fresh coming-of-age story. An 18th On her birthday mushroom trip, free-spirited Elliott (Maisy Stella) comes face to face with her witty 39-year-old self (Aubrey Plaza). But when Elliott’s “old ass” starts issuing warnings about what her younger self should and shouldn’t do, Elliott realizes she needs to rethink everything about family, love, and a summer that will change her.
