If you want to edit images, you can choose from a variety of alternatives on the Mac. Thanks to the wide range of mockups, Pixelmator Pro is quite popular in the editorial scene. Be that as it may, there is another update coming that will further support RAW formats. But that’s not all.

Pixelmator Pro 3.6.7 comes with these improvements

Similar to the last update of Photomator, the developers – both programs come from the same software company – are introducing the same improvements. Here too, the automatic straightening should now work much better. Here are the release notes:

Automatically straighten

• The automatic straightening algorithm has been completely redesigned and now offers 5x greater precision, especially for images with unclear horizons and lower quality images.

Further improvements and corrections

• RAW files from Nikon Z 8 cameras are now supported in DX format and 1:1 and 16:9 crop modes.
• Improved stability when working with SVG and PSD documents.
• When exporting text with inner or outer strokes to SVG or PDF, the strokes were not displayed correctly in the exported file. Fixed.
• When working with RAW files from certain Olympus cameras, the application sometimes quit unexpectedly. Fixed.

Update is required

Here comes the best news and we mention it again and again because it is no longer a given these days: Existing customers can download the update for free from the Mac App Store this time too

It is difficult for us to estimate how long the developer will continue to offer updates free of charge. However, there currently seem to be no signs of the introduction of a subscription function, so we continue to recommend the software without reservation.
