Police are asking the public for help in locating suspects after two people were shot in Sylvania Twp. on Monday morning

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – Just before 1 a.m. Monday, two people were found shot to death in Sylvania Township and police are asking for the public’s help in locating the suspect or suspects.

According to Sylvania Twp. Police, a 911 call was made to report a shooting in the 4500 block of Crossfields Road. Both victims were taken to the hospital and their conditions are unknown. Police are not releasing their identities at this time.

On Monday afternoon, Sylvania Township Police posted a Facebook post asking anyone in the Corey Road area between Monroe Street and Whiteford Road who has a doorbell and/or security camera to check for footage between 10 p.m. on September 8 and 2 a.m. on September 9. They asked to be on the lookout for people or vehicles that were unusual for the area during the specified time period.

Anyone with footage that may be relevant to the shooting is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Mussery at [email protected].

“We are aware of the concern the community is feeling at this time. We have not had any similar incidents in Sylvania Township recently,” Sylvania Township police said in their Facebook post. “We are working closely with the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation to thoroughly investigate this incident and identify a suspect.”
