Police arrest suspect after fatal shooting at MARTA Arts Center station

ATLANTA, Georgia (Atlanta News First) – A man was arrested in connection with Sunday night’s fatal shooting at the MARTA Arts Center station, the transit agency announced Wednesday.

Xavier Mosley, 38, is charged with murder, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and possession of a weapon during the commission of a felony. He was booked into the Fulton County Jail.

At around 9 p.m. on Sunday, police were called to the bus stop. There they found an unknown victim who had been shot multiple times. He was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead.

On Wednesday, MARTA and Atlanta police, along with a SWAT team, raided Mosley’s Atlanta residence and took him into custody.

“We value our partnership with the Atlanta Police Department,” MARTA Police Chief Scott Kreher said in a statement. “This is a great example of local agencies working together to achieve the common goal of keeping our communities safe.”

Mosley has also been permanently banned from using the MARTA line, the transit authority said.
