Police investigate suspected kidnapping at gas station in Willimantic

Willimantic, CT (WFSB) – Police are investigating a suspected kidnapping that occurred at a gas station Thursday afternoon.

Willimantic Police received a call at 2:45 p.m. reporting that an adult female had been abducted by two male suspects at Chuckey’s Gas Station at the intersection of Ash and Jackson Streets.

The caller described witnessing the suspects attack the woman in a white vehicle before fleeing the scene in a black vehicle.

The caller provided detailed descriptions of the victim, suspects and vehicles, including the direction the black vehicle was traveling.

Based on this information, officers responded and located the black vehicle, after which they began a high-speed chase through Windham and Scotland.

Due to heavy traffic, local school zones, and the driver’s erratic behavior, the pursuit was eventually called off.

Further investigations revealed the identity of the victim and all surrounding police stations were alerted.

It was determined that the victim’s white vehicle had left the scene. Both the victim and her vehicle were later found at another gas station in Willimantic.

When questioned, the victim admitted to being involved in the incident, but showed no willingness to cooperate and left the scene.

No arrests have been made yet. The male suspects have been identified and are expected to be charged in the future.

Police confirmed that this was an isolated incident in which the people knew each other and that there was no ongoing danger to the public.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact Willimantic Police at 860-465-3135.
