A robbery at this coin shop sparks an investigation on Saturday. I’m at Affordable Rare Coins on West Northland Avenue, where an employee had to run for help after being attacked by an apparent robber. We have exclusive video of the robbery.

Surveillance video provided to us by a source who wishes to remain anonymous shows a man dressed as a woman wearing a blonde wig in the store.

The man in the wig asks the employee for help, then hits him on the head with a “wrench-like object” and chases him out of the store, where the robber hits the employee again.

The robber then smashes a glass display case, grabs the goods and runs away.

Kanu Patel owns the Northern Inn Motel next door to Affordable Rare Coins. He says on Saturday afternoon, an employee from the store next door ran to him for help after he was hit in the head by the suspect.

Patel says he and his wife helped the victim by getting towels to stop the bleeding and calling 911, which launched a Grand Chute Police Department investigation.

“I saw a lot of blood. I asked, ‘What happened?’ He said, ‘Robbery,'” Patel said. “And immediately I called 911 and my wife came and brought the big towel to put on his head.”

I tried to speak to other store employees after police left the scene, but they declined to comment.

When we last spoke to the police, we were told that no one was in custody.
