Popular consignment sale in Tuscaloosa

TUSCALOOSA, Alabama (WBRC) – A long-standing church-based consignment sale is back in west Alabama, offering shoppers special deals as well as financial support for a daycare center.

The Little Lambs Consignment Sale began Thursday evening at the First United Methodist Church on Greensboro Avenue in downtown Tuscaloosa.

Those looking for special offers on baby items have a wide choice. The sale includes well-preserved autumn and winter clothing, shoes, toys, nursery items and accessories for babies and children.

Organizers say sales grow every year, with more than 200 local consignors offering more than 200,000 items to choose from.

One buyer described this as a family tradition that she is happy to continue.

“My mom, who is right here, has been buying and consigning used clothing since I was a little girl,” said Peyton Gurganus, volunteer and first shopper. “Now that I have a little baby of my own, I know how beneficial it is to buy used clothing, save money and give those clothes a new life.”

The second day of the Little Lambs Consignment Sale runs Friday, August 24th from 9am-6pm and Saturday, August 25th from 9am-12pm.

Saturday is the last day of the sale, when most items are half price.
