Powerball Winners Valued at Million Sold for 4/24/09 Drawing

LANSING, MI — For the second time in the last two weeks, a $1 million Powerball ticket was sold in Michigan because a player matched all five white numbers — 7-10-21-33-59 — in the Sept. 4 drawing to win the prize.

The winning ticket was sold at the Shell gas station at 32919 Cherry Hill Road, Westland. The winner now has one year to contact Michigan Lottery Player Services at 1-844-917-6325 to schedule an appointment to claim the prize. Powerball winning tickets must be claimed within one year of the drawing date.

The last Michigan players to win a Mega Millions or Powerball jackpot are the Breakfast Club lottery club, which won a jackpot of $842 million in June 2024. Members plan to use the money to buy a home in Florida and travel.

And even though they were lucky winners, it’s wise for players to check their tickets immediately, as a $1 million Mega Millions prize sold in Southfield in 2023 went unclaimed. The money went to the state’s school aid fund instead.
